MUSIC DIRECTORS DEDICATE NELSON MANDELA DAY TO A LITTLE BRAVE GIRL

BY ASIPHE MANGUMTA

Three Clap ‘n Tap gospel Music directors join forces in raising funds for a brave (10) ten-year-old girl (Reatile Blessing Tolo) who was bitten by pitbulls while trying to save her little brother from the dogs, at a park in Ponong section, Katlehong.

During the international Nelson Mandela day (18th of July, 2020) they dedicated their “Madiba spirit” to the little hero in recognition of her selfless act of trying to save her (4)four-year-old brother, Thoriso Thembelihle Tolo, from the dogs.

The event was spearheaded by the Clap ‘n Tap Music genre’s directors who came together to form an organisation dubbed “One on One movement” to show support to this fearless survivor. Clap ‘n Tap is a gospel music genre not fully recognised in South Africa, but it’s a genre which Reatile loves very much. Her fulfilled desired dream was to meet the 3 music directors of her Favourite choirs: Tebogo Chauke - Lejwe La Motheo, Tshepo Nchabeleng -Katlehong Gospel Choir and Bongani Maseko -Temple of God Original, this are choirs that are doing very well in their respective genre.

Nelson Mandela day doesn’t only celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life but it’s a global call for action, for people to recognize their ability to have positive effects on others surrounding them. Brother Tebogo, Bongani and Tshepo have joined forces on a R67 movement for Mandela Day, to help raise funds which will provide educational care and comfort for our little Reatile Blessing Tolo and her family.

“Nelson Mandela was a leader who was passionate about education and giving back , He knew that children needed to be protected , so as SA citizens we have the responsibility to stand up and help improve lives of our children and those in need”, said the directors in combined speech.

When working together our collective actions result in a positive impact that bring changes. They therefore called to action the nation in order to succeed in helping the little princess, Irrespective of one’s location help was immensely appreciated ranging from financial aid; R67 , Food or clothing etc.
