A DRUG PEDDLAR CAUGHT WITH NARCOTICS VALUED AT R46,000 IN KLOPPER PARK

An anonymous caller provided the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members with information on suspicious activities at a house in Welkom road. The specialized Unit members acted upon the tip off with the resultant arrest of a man found in possession of five (5) ziplocks with two (2) knotted plastics of Crystal Methamphetamine (Meth), eight (8) knotted plastics with two (2) ziplocks of Khat, x1 digital scale, x1 laptop, x2 cellphones and x2 plastic containers. Drugs confiscated, are estimated to be valued at R46000. The arrest took place last night (on Wednesday 21 August 2019), at 23h30. Subsequent to receiving the information, Metro Police monitored the house for several days. Dodgy individuals on foot and in vehicles were observed going in and out of the house, throughout the day and night hours. Once satisfied that there could be an illegal activity taking place at this particular building, the DEU members pounced on the house and found a 30yr old man selling the illicit substances. R7100 and $30 in cash, believed to be proceeds from his illicit drug-trading was also seized.The suspect was charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances, at the Bedfordview police station. He is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court soon.
