A NISSAN NP 200 STOLEN IN KEMPTON PARK AND CLONED IS RECOVERED IN TEMBISA

A white Nissan NP200 light delivery belonging to a company in Kempton Park was stolen in January of this year. Apparently, the thieves had identified a similar vehicle elsewhere and the intention was to clone the stolen NP200. Unfortunately, the alleged thief’s lady luck did not smile on him as a tip off was received by the EMPD Specialized Task Team about the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was recovered on Thursday, 01 August in Tembisa and the suspect handcuffed. Information about the vehicle being spotted at a carwash at Moedi Section Ext. 05 was reacted upon by the EMPD Specialized Task Team members who confronted the person who admitted to be the owner. The 35yr old male claimed that he had recently bought the vehicle from a private person residing in Alexander for R10,000. The number plate displayed was fake and running the chassis number confirmed the vehicle to be the stolen NP 200 in the process of being cloned. The suspect was detained at Tembisa police on possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
