On Monday (03) between 11:00 and 13h00, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members made a turn in Actonville and Benoni areas where two (2) male suspects caught with narcotics, were apprehended following a crime prevention operation. The 20-year old suspect, was cornered and handcuffed at 11:30 by the Actonville hostel, after Officers uncovered 7x knotted plastics of nyaope valued at R240 and R235 cash. He was marched to the Actonville police station and charged with, possession and dealing in illicit substance. At 12h35 on Woburn street by the block of flats in Benoni area, the 21-year old undocumented Zimbabwean national found with 11x ziplocks and 1x packet of khat valued at R15 200 with a portable digital scale, was arrested and taken to Benoni police station. The suspect is expected to answer, under the migrations Act. Charges of possession and dealing in narcotics, were also levelled against him. The arrested pair, will appear at the Benoni Magistrate's Court soon.
