AN ALLEGED NYAOPE DEALER IS APPREHENDED IN ALBERTON

On Tuesday 13 August around 17h00, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members seized the drug Nyaope from a male suspect in Alberton area. The suspect was immediately handcuffed and detained at Alberton police station.

A 38yr old suspicious pedestrian who became uneasy when patrolling Officers approached him, was arrested by Radio road, at the Alberton north informal settlement after he was stopped and searched. Drug Enforcement Unit members uncovered fifteen (15) green knotted plastics containing the drug with an estimated street value of R1,000.

The suspect was charged with possession and dealing in narcotics and is expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate's Court soon.
