The City of Ekurhuleni will today, 14 April, close for applications of temporary trading permissions as provided for in the amended Covid-19 regulations issued on 2 April. The regulations make provision for grocery stores, wholesale produce market, including spaza shops and informal traders to trade during the current lockdown.
The applications closed at end of business today. The City closes the application to make room for processing of applications already received which are in excess of 2079, and to minimise the movement of people as required by the covid-19 regulations. Altogether, 876 applications have been recommended for approval and 1 203 were rejected. The traders whose applications have been approved will be contacted from tomorrow to collect their temporary trading permissions.
