The African Transformation Movement (ATM) celebrates the life of Chris Hani and sacrifices that he collectively made with all our freedom fighters to grant South Africa the freedom it has today. It is because of ideals that embodied the principles of servant leadership and Ubuntu that Chris Hani’s contribution to the liberation movement became notable and celebrated by many South Africans who looked up to him for leadership in times of difficulty. His assassination robbed the country of a stern, principled, and exemplary leader who would give direction and leadership without compromising his values and his love for the people that he serves. We are assured that as we celebrate his life today, his tales will forever be told to the many generations that will roam the streets of South Africa. We are assured that history has no blank pages and that Chris Hani’s name will forever be commemorated as a selfless leader who was able to put the people of South Africa first.
