Team Bafenyi Social Club held their first annual family fun day at the Tsakane Softball Stadium(December).
The event included activities for children and adults accompanied with different kinds of games for the entire family. The games included water slides, jumping castles, quad bikes, soccer, egg race, sack race and dancing competitions.
All proceeds from the event will be going to their adopted charity organisation in Tsakane Old Age Home.
Mayagabo Ledwaba, treasurer of the social club says, the purpose of the event is to bring families together while also giving back to those in need. “We have been working with Tsakane Old Age Home for a while now. Nelson Mandela Day comes once in a year and not everything can be done in one day,she adds.
“We then came up with the idea of hosting the annual fun day, because most events do not cater for children and we wanted to do something different that will include both young and old” says Ledwaba.
Resident Zanele Moraana, who attended the event with family, says: “I think the event is a brilliant idea, it is very inclusive and I came with my entire family today. “In most cases we do not get events which cater for children as well with the schools being closed this was rather the best we acted upon.
Four-year-old Siyabonga Mabena says, he came to have fun with his family and ride a scooter, overall he enjoyed playing soccer with his grandfather.
