CRACKDOWN ON PRIMROSE FOR NARCOTICS – FIVE DRUG DEALERS ARRESTED AND FORGED OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members on Tuesday (08 Oct) between 04:00 and 10:00, blitzed the Primrose area in search of drug peddlers. Amongst five (5) arrested drug dealers, two (2) are undocumented and their Asylum Seeker Temporary Permits have been tempered with (alteration of dates and wording).The main objective of the special operation, was to crackdown on drug dealers and other crimes. The EMPD DEU members, focused on drug houses identified by concerned members of the Community. Stop and searches were also conducted.

Between 4:30 and 5:30, two shacks situated in the Marathon informal settlement were pounced upon where three (3) male occupants between the ages of 19 and 31 were found with 11x ziplocks, 20x sealed syringes, 45x paper wrapped and 1x plastic (104 grams) of dagga valued R1731 with R290 cash. While Officers were taking the trio to the nearest lawful custody just before 09:00, they stopped and searched two (2) suspicious males,  who are both 32-years of age, one found on Rietfontein road with 4x ziplocks of Chrystal meth, forged asylum seekers document and 1x block of khat valued at R7500. The other male suspect was picked up on Violet road and Officers uncovered a forged asylum seekers document and 2x ziplocks of khat valued R600 with R700 cash.


The case of possession and dealing in illicit substances with forgery, were laid against the five (5), at the Primrose police station. They will appear at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
