CRYSTAL METH AND KHAT VALUED AT MORE THAN R23000 SEIZED BY EMPD DEU MEMBERS IN BRAKPAN - TWO BEHIND

Responding to a complaint from some business person in Brakpan area, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members apprehended two (2) male suspects found with narcotics on the streets. The arrest was effected on thursday(31 Oct) just before 08:00.

At 07:29, the 26-year old found idling on Hoskins street was cornered and searched, before Officers uncovered 5x ziplocks of khat valued at R1150 and R490 cash. As the Unit marched the suspect to lawful custody, they briefly made a stop at the corner of Kritzinger and Forest where a suspicious 32-year old, was in possession of 44x ziplocks of crystal meth and 10x ziplocks with 1x medium plastic containing khat, valued at R22000, after he was frisked.

The arrested suspects were taken to Brakpan police station where charges of possession and dealing in illicit substance, were levelled against them. They will appear in the Brakpan Magistrate's Court soon.
