Today (19 May) during a crime prevention operation by the EMPD K9 and North Task Team Units in Kempton Park area, variety of illicit substances were confiscated and suspects, were apprehended. Between 05:00 and 15h00, EMPD Members arrested eight (8) documented Nigerian nationals, caught with mandrax tablets, crystal meth, dagga, heroin and khat valued at R3, 790 000 and R3600 cash. During the operation, an idling 48-year old male found outside his yard in Birchleigh area, received a tongue lash, for not properly storing 25x 9mm live rounds, of his licensed firearm. The arrested eight (8), are detained at the Kempton Park police station for possession and dealing in illicit substances. They are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
