When your passion lies in something, it is difficult to shift your mind . Thando Ngobese (20) from Katlehong is an all-round business person who doesn’t limit himself when it comes to his capabilities. He has been an entrepreneur for a number of years and still believes that there is always something to learn about the industry.

Being multifaceted plays a big role in his persona, which also rubs off in his business side of things. Thando says “I believe in many sources of incomes, which is part of the reason why I’m not focusing on one thing.” Amongst the things that he does includes graphic design, animation, being in the property business and so on.

Getting a business off the ground is the hardest things one has to do, especially when there is a lot to consider; and the main part is having to ask for funding. Thando shares his sentiments and says, there is a need for big companies to invest in small businesses for the upliftment and change that will occur in communities.

As a young businessman, Thando is still learning the ropes of business industry and plans for greater heights. He says, recently I’ve learnt about the different types of funding for a business and the significance of registering it at one of the events that was held in the region of Ekurhuleni. “I learnt about the different sectors of funding and the full details, it was a mind-blowing experience,” he added.

Two of his businesses are registered and the other two are not yet registered, as it is still in the process.

Thando urges upcoming businesspeople to start somewhere, no matter how long the processes may take. He concluded,“there are so many people with brilliant ideas and have never done anything about them.” He believes that entrepreneurs are all about taking calculated risks which is long run, work in their favour.
