Based on intelligence collected, on Wednesday (25 Mar) at 5 a.m. in Dawn Park and Leondale areas, the EMPD Specialized Task Team in two (2) groups, pounced on two (2) houses simultaneously where suspicious items were seized and two (2) male suspects apprehended.
In Dawn Park area, a 25-year old fugitive wanted by Katlehong SAPS for pointing of a firearm, possession of implements for breaking and house robbery, was found with a reported white Toyota Etios Sprint stolen last month (Feb), in Boksburg before he was taken to Dawn Park police station. Additional to outstanding cases, he is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
At the same time, the second Team tackling Leondale area, picked up a 30-year old suspect caught with 14x live rounds, an unlicensed 9mm pistol with serial numbers tempered with, a reported blue Fiat Uno Turbo stolen this month (Mar) in Primrose, suspected stolen property (vehicles computer boxes ) and police uniform (a reflective and winter Metro Police jackets). He was marched to Alberton police station and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of suspected stolen property and possession of stolen Police Officers uniform (possible impersonating an Officer). Both detainees, are expected to appear in the Vosloorus and Palmridge Magistrate's Court/s soon.
