THE EMPD DEU MEMBERS ARREST FOUR IN BENONI FOR POSSESSION AND DEALING IN NARCOTICS

During the crime prevention operation in Benoni area on Wednesday (29 Jan) morning between 06:00 and 09:00, four (4) male suspects found with narcotics, were apprehended by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit and khat, rocks, heroin and dagga were seized. The suspicious 29-year old cornered at Actonville area on Makhathini street at 06:05, was handcuffed by EMPD Members following a body search, after 13x ziplocks of khat and 16x pieces of rock valued at R3000 with R600 cash, were uncovered. He was marched to Actonville police station. Between 06:50 and 08:45 in Benoni area, on Voortrekker road including Kemston street by the block of flats, three (3) suspects who are 25, 31 and 37 years of age were nabbed, after Officers uncovered 13x pieces of rocks, 10x ziplocks of dagga, 2x knotted plastics of heroin, 7x glass tubes (paraphernalia) valued at R3300 and R1560 cash, were confiscated. The trio were taken to Benoni police station. The four (4) arrested suspect, are charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances and they are expected to appear in Benoni Magistrate's Court soon.
