THE EMPD K9 UNIT FINDS NARCOTICS STASHED NEXT TO A TAVERN IN BOKSBURG

On Friday (20 Sept) at around 10am in Boksburg area, x3 suspicious men who were idling not far from a well-known tavern in Boksburg area, saw the branded EMPD motor vehicle approaching, before they bolted and disappeared without a trace.

When Metro Police Officers from the K9 Unit who were on routine patrol noticed the unannounced marathon from the trio, they stopped on 13th street, with 'the men's best friend' at the spot where suspects were hanging out and the sniffer dog trained to locate narcotics was summoned. Officers discovered a plastic package containing x39 ziplocks of crystal meth, x8 ziplocks of khat, x11 mandrax tablets and x1 block of a drug known as rock estimated to be valued at R2400, stashed between two (2) loose bricks.

The stuff was confiscated and handed over to members of the SAPS, at the Boksburg north Police station.
