On saturday (18 Jan) at 21h00 in Daveyton area, the Ren Trak motor vehicle tracker company busy tracing a grey Hyundai i20, stolen during a house robbery in Dunnotor, requested a backup from patrolling EMPD Etwatwa precinct Officers, since the coordinates of the lost 5 door, was repeating in Daveyton area.
Law enforcers responded swiftly and spotted the wanted hatch back, parked unattended inside the Daveyton hostel premises. The abandoned vehicle was surrounded and thoroughly searched, with no trace of goods/items burgled during the house robbery, earlier on.
It is believed that a house in Dunnotor area was robbed off laptops, jewelry, cellphones and undisclosed amount of money, before the grey family Hyundai i20, was used as a getaway car by looters. The SAPS were summoned to the crime scene and fingerprints were taken, before the recovered i20 was impounded to Van Ryn's Deep in Benoni, for thorough investigations.
