THREE CAUGHT WITH NARCOTICS AND ONE FOR BEING UNDOCUMENTED - IN GERMISTON AND PRIMROSE AREAS

During a crime prevention operation in Germiston and Primrose areas, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members apprehended three (3) male suspects between 06:30 and 09:00 and narcotics with cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal trade were confiscated.

On monday (20 Jan) at 06:45 on Webber road in Germiston area, the EMPD DEU Members approached a suspicious 28-year old,who was found on Webber road, before 23,60 grams of loose dagga, one (1) gram of khat valued at R600 and R700 cash were uncovered, following the body search. As Officers were handcuffing the offender, an untrustworthy onlooker among spectators showed Officers a clean pair of shoes but, he was cornered and caught on Argyle road at 06:50. When interviewed, the Nigerian national in his 30s, confessed to have entered the country illegally, with no necessary documents, before he was also picked up. Both suspects were taken to Germiston police station. At 08:30 in Primrose area on Filbert street, Officers frisked and arrested a 47-year old found with 522,35 grams of loose dagga, valued at R2500 and R135 cash. The suspect was marched to Primrose police station. The arrested trio, are charged with possession and dealing in illicit substance/s and one (1), under the migrations Act. They are expected to appear at the Germiston Magistrate's Court soon.
