The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members, conducted a special operation in Germiston on Friday (27 Sep) between 15h00 and 18h00. On Saturday (28 Sept) the action kick started in Vosloorus from 09:00 until 13h00. Arrests of 2 were made, dagga, nyaope and rocks were confiscated.
A 34-year old idling male suspect found on Meyer street between Knox and Odendaal in Germiston just after 15h00 on Friday, was stopped and searched when Officers uncovered 27x knotted plastics valued at R1350 and R278 cash, before he was marched to the Germiston police station.
On Saturday (28 Sept) at 12h00 midday in Vosloorus area, patrolling Officers approached and frisked a very nervous 25-year old male by the taxi rank where 8x brown knotted plastics of nyaope and 19x (silver, green and pink) wrappers containing a drug known as rock valued at R2500 were found. The youngster was handcuffed and taken to the Vosloorus police station.Both arrestees were charged with possession and dealing in narcotics. The suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston and Vosloorus Magistrate's Court/s soon.
