TWO NABBED BY EMPD DEU FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS IN EDEN PARK AND ALBERTON AREAS

A 26-year old male suspect was cornered on saturday (28 Dec) at 10:30, by patrolling EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit Members in Eden Park area on Suzuki street, after he was found with 5x ziplocks of khat, 3x mandrax tablets, over 300 grams of dagga valued at R2000 and R400 cash, following a body search. The suspect was taken to Eden Park police station.

On Sunday (29 Dec) at 09:50 in Alberton area, the DEU Squad on a crime prevention operation, stopped and searched a suspicious looking 30-year old male, found idling on Parklands avenue. Seventy (70) small and medium sized ziplocks containing over 240 grams of dagga valued at R1700 and R80 cash, were confiscated before the suspect was marched to Alberton police station.

Cases of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance/s, were registered against the two (2) and they are expected to appear at Palmridge Magistrate's Court soon.
