The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members on Friday, 09 August around 07h20 arrested two male suspects in Villa Liza for possession of mandrax tablets and dagga valued at over R2,000. The arrests were as a result of a tip off from the community of Villa Liza in Boksburg.
The pair was apprehended on Jegra Street when they were found in possession of thirty (30) mandrax tablets and dagga with a mass of 67grams with an overall street value of R2,500. The DEU members also confiscated cash amounting to R167 suspected to be proceeds from the illicit dealings.
The arrested pair, aged 20 and 25, was detained at Dawn Park police station charged with possession and dealing in narcotics. They are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
