A man pretending to be freezing cold and acting suspiciously after being spotted by EMPD Officers in Vosloorus on Saturday (31Aug) at 15h30, attracted the attention of the Drug Enforcement Unit members patrolling the area, on Mhlopi crescent in extension 25.
The 35-year old standing by the main gate of premises claimed it was his place,he failed to utter any recognizable language/words fluently when interviewed by Officers, before he was frisked. DEU members found x38 ziplocks of Khat, x4 full and x1 half Mandrax tablets valued at approximately R7850,00 in his possession. He was immediately arrested after confessing that, he is also in the Country illegally.
Even though he didn't want to reveal his birth place, he was escorted to the Vosloorus police station. A case of possession and dealing in illicit substance including the one under the Immigrations Act, were registered. The suspect will appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate's Court soon.
