Southern Africa Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference (SATNAC), takes place on the 1 - 4 September 2019 at Fairmont Zimbali Resort in Ballito, Durban. The country’s premier ICT conference will examine the changing requirements of the telecommunication sector and the country’s infrastructure requirements to meet these.
According to conference chairman and Chief Executive Officer of South Africa’s leading wholesale infrastructure connectivity provider, Alphonzo Samuels, South Africa has seen an unprecedented growth in data usage with most South Africans accessing this data through some form of mobile device.
“We must ensure that telecommunication companies have the networks, mechanisms & systems to deal with this changing world,” says Samuels.
The conference line-up includes leading researchers and leaders of industry working in this area such as Alibaba and cloud service provider Globetom.
The changes in telcos requires investment in high-value skills, technology, and advanced ICT infrastructure, says Samuels.
“SATNAC allows industry leaders, academia and operators to showcase their applied research in the ICT sector and affords a platform for postgraduate students to highlight their research successes.
The 400 SATNAC delegates include delegates from Centres of Excellence housed at various universities around the country. The centres of excellence is the largest coordinated research programme in the country.
To register and for more information go to www.satnac.org.za as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
“SATNAC has definitely grown in leaps and bounds over the years and enjoys interest due to its unique combination academia, ICT sector and media,” Samuels concludes
