On 2019 - 09 - 14 Saturday, Putfontein sector 1 manager Cst Ngema, Sector 4 manager Cst Manyike, Social Crime Coordinator Cst Modiba, Cst Mchavi and Spokeperson Cst Ubisi honoured the invitation by ASSA - Albinism Society of South Africa at st Johns Anglican Church Putfontein.
Mrs Shoki Kekana of st Johns ASSA coordinator, reminded the people living with Albinism condition that it is not a curse, they need not to think low of themselves, she further reminded them that they have right to life and to be treated like any other person.
Key Note Speaker. Mrs Nomasonto Mazibuko , founder and national director of Albinism Society of South Africa, told the people living with Albinism condition to accept their condition before they expect the society to accept them. and she emphasised the issue of them empowering themselves with education and other necessary skills that will make it impossible for them to be overlooked. and she warned everyone that Albinos don't dissappear, they are kidnapped and killed for rituals beliefs.
She reiterated that, it is a myth that Albinos body parts makes strong muthi that boosts businesses. She warned parents not to sell their kids for financial gains.
Putfontein spokesperson Cst Ubisi advised the people with Albinism conditions to report any form of derogatory remarks made to them by any member of society, and told them that the police are committed to assist them should they encounter such behaviour from the community.
He also encouraged the parents to always monitor their kids, and to report to the police as soon as possible should their kids dissappear or get kidnapped.
Skin care products donated by Diocese of Johannesburg were handed to the people living with Albinism Conditions .
