Gauteng government partners with private sector in fighting the spread of COVID-19: public transport

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport together with partners from government and the private sector will today, 06 April 2020, launch a programme to support taxi ranks and transport nodes across the province with sanitasation of commuters, vehicles and their facilities in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Together with Outsurance, SA Taxi Finance, Clinix Health Group, AngloGold Ashanti, arms manufacturer Amscor and the City of Ekurhuleni, MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure Jacob Mamabolo will be leading the efforts to ramp up sanitisation of facilities in all five development corridors of Gauteng.

This programme is aimed at augmenting work already being done by public transport operators, supported by the Gauteng provincial government. Details of the launch: Meeting Venue: Sangweni Taxi Rank, Tembisa Date : Monday, 06 April 2020 Time : 11h00
