A young man was arrested yesterday (22 Aug) just before 13h00 in Vosloorus area, when he was caught red-handed selling drugs by the intersection of Hattingh and Sefolo.
The suspect was observed for some time and was seen exchanging stuff with persons who approached him on the street. Two (2) of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members in civilian clothing approached the man pretending to be buyers. Once it was established that the man was a drug-dealer, uniformed members confronted the man and he was apprehended.
Thirty three (33) ziplocks with x1 black plastic containing loose dagga, x2 full-x22 half and x3 quarter mandrax tablets estimated to be worth R3,650 and R1094 cash were confiscated.
The 26yr old youth was charged at Vosloorus police station, with possession of illicit substances and is expected appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate's Court soon.
