Motheo Training Institute trust held graduation ceremony on the 20th September, for 105 students with higher certificate that is internationally recognized in ECD at Trichardts road, Boksburg pink hall,Boksburg care centre.
The ceremony was attended by government institutions representatives to welcome the graduates to the job market e.g. ETDPSETA, UNICEF SA, SA Council for Educators (SACE), department of basic education, SA Qualification Authority (SAQA).The City of Ekurhuleni is proud for Motheo to fly the flag of the municipality up high. The institutions representatives were there to welcome the graduates; they assured them of the quality and legitimacy of their certificate. Graduate were advised about the journey they starting from their graduation day and onwards.
The CEO of ETDPSETA Mrs Nombulelo Nxesi told graduates of the legitimacy certificate in the country that has been filled with bogus colleges and schools. Working together strengthens and consolidate that there is a best foundation for the children. Mrs Nxesi said, “it has been written in all kinds of research that without early childhood development we cannot have a truthful and successful young person accomplishing all in his or her education levels”. The role of practitioners is very critical that what they do today determines the future of the children. It is required of them to upgrade and have more with the changes of the education system. They need to have a purpose as practitioners, they need to know what type of children they will bring to the world and not be narrow minded as they teach because the child is going to be part of a society, family member and also part of a nation. “You stop learning, you must stop practising in the ECD” said Mrs Nxesi.Mr Theo Toolo emphasized the fact that every teacher standing in front of children should be registered with the SACE it is mandatory. SACE manage a system for continuing professional teacher development and they need to participate in order to be recognised with the council for educators. Mr Toolo edged graduate to adhere to the SACE code of professional ethics. “The future of this country is in your hands as ECD practitioners” said Mr Toolo.
Mr Rex Molefe who is the director and founder of Motheo Training Institute Trust encouraged men to embrace ECD especially now that the country is facing violence towards woman and children. The institute has a programme incorporated within the modules that directed at gender-based pedagogy aimed on destroying the stereotype to enable man to man-up and empowering the boy child. He emphasized the fact that ECD is starting to look up and more people are starting to understand its importance. “ECD is important in a development of a successful nation” said the director of Motheo.
Excited graduate enjoyed their day with their family and friends and excited to begin their journey. Excited graduate Rena Mabena is certain that she will continue with her studies and excited to embark in this lifelong learning journey. According to her it was not easy but with the support of Motheo, family and the community they managed to pull through to the end and that this career part has many opportunities only if you love children.
