An eleven years old girl succumbed her life due to intense injuries she sustained after being knocked down by a truck near Greenfields taxi rank in the Eden-Park on Thursday the 2nd April 2020 at around 12H00 midday. Rescue team from Palm Ridge fire station swiftly responded to the scene after a walk-in, notification by members of the public who came to report the incident. The call was logged exactly 12H27 noon. On arrival at the scene, the team found a tiny motionless body of the girl lying next to the road. Prehospital medical treatment was initiated and unfortunately with no positive response, she was declared deceased. The two occupants of the truck “Driver and assistant” escaped with no injuries. The scene was then handed over to the City of Ekurhuleni traffic officers for further investigation.
