The J10 Pipeline, which runs along the Main Reef Road from Germiston to Boksburg was damaged in the early hours of this morning. This prompted Rand Water to shut down the water supply to allow for the commencement of emergency repair work.
The Rand Water technical team was immediately dispatched to the area to start with the inspection and repair work. The following facilities, companies and institutions will be affected: Actom Company, Knights Mine, Life care Hospital, Orlana Park, Knights Station, First Electric Corporation, Medley Reservoir for Ekurhuleni Municipality. The estimated completion of the repair work has not been determined. Rand Water would like to apologise for any inconvenience that might have been caused by the damage of the pipeline. The organisation is also appealing to residents who have not been affected to use water sparingly to prevent the depletion of its system during this period.
