By Asiphe Mangumta On the 26 August the Germiston social crime unit together with Ekurhuleni traffic warden conducted a school search at Rondebult high school. Rondebult high school was turned upside down during the search; the school, bags as well as the learners were searched for drugs, weapons like knife etc. According to the social crime unit with traffic warden who are working under the management of Superident Nonyane went smooth, learners, teachers and principal co- operatived and appreciated the service. In the search they found empty can of cider, opened cider, condoms, dagga and matches and no arrests were made. The principal was grateful for the school to receive those services from social crime unit and Ekurhuleni traffic warden. According to the principal this is not just a regular service to ensure the safety of the school but that of the learners and teachers as well and that makes the learning and teaching environment conducive which as well promises good pass rates at the end of the year. The teachers responded well to the service as well and wished for it to be done on monthly basis so they can save the future of the learners who are not yet troublemakers. The principal wishes to give Ekurhuleni social crime unit and Ekurhuleni traffic warden the responsibility to have a one-on-one with children that are giving problems to caution them about their health and safety, for the learners not to be too relaxed and shift their mind away from issues and back to their books.
