On monday (30 Sept) between 13h00 and 15h00 in Kempton Park area at the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department Head Quarters, two hundred and sixty three (263) recruits who recently completed their eighteen (18) months Metro Police course, gathered in one of the auditoriums and the EMPD Chief of Police Jabulani Isaac Mapiyeye with his Management team, made few announcements.The thrilled one hundred and seventy one (171) Men and ninety two (92) Women Officers who seemed eager and prepared to fight crime, enforce municipal By-Laws and traffic law, listened attentively to ranking Officials and the Head of Department where advises with cautions were given. They were reminded that today they are 263 but initially, the number was two hundred and seventy (270) in January 2018 during the enrolment but, due to four (4) having criminal records and three (3) Traffic Wardens who paused because, the mountain seemed too high for them, the round figure changed.
After the Chief of Police and Management completed allocating Members accordingly, he closed by saying: "Lawlessness won't be tolerated in the City of Ekurhuleni, on Friday the 23rd of August 2019, remember that the Executive Mayor Cllr Mzwandile Masina welcomed, congratulated and addressed all of you after a pass out parade, at the Germiston Stadium so, go out there, serve, protect and defend the communities of Ekurhuleni, beef up the police visibility and make us proud. "
